Which FORMULA is the BEST???

I am thinking I am gunna start to ween (sp??) Bailey off of nursing. So I was curious what the BEST KIND OF FORMULA is for babies to go from breast milk to formula?

Does it even make a difference??

Thanks for your help in advance!! :)

IMO, the best formula is the formula your baby will eat. I would try a few different kinds and see how she reacts to them. It might be a matter of taste, or digestion. Or hopefully, she'll love them all and you can pick the cheapest. Out here, Similac and Enfamil are the big choices it seems, while a few moms buy the Costco brand, but I've heard of a few babies refusing to eat it. There are seriously so many choices its ridiculous, I would just start with the basic types and go from there.

I like Similac. My old Pediatrician that just retired of practicing pediatrics for like 100 years, preferred Similac. If you sign up for their club (free) you get coupons in the mail. Although, someone recently told me that Costco brand is the same as Similac, but they just package it differently. I don't know if it is really true.

Dude this is what you should do. It doesn't matter which formula you use. Your sister in law is right. Just as long as your baby will take it. You only need a special kind if she's like lactose intolerant which i'm assuming she's not b/c then you obviously have to get soy stuff. Anyway formula is EXPENSIVE so what we did is get the costco brand. It comes in a 2 pack and the each container is like double the size of a normal one from the store so it's like you're getting 4 in one. And the price if I remember correctly is only like 20 bucks or so for the 2 pack which is about the same as the store too. It's the best deal for your money and quantity. Just thought you'd like to know :) Hope it works out.

hey amanda,

i stopped nursing about a month ago too and i wasn't sure what to do either. i talked to connor's pedi and he said all formula is pretty much the same, seriously. except if its like the soy based etc. but he said enfamil and the walmart brand are made by the same comp just packaged different and the same with costco and similac. we started connor on enfamil for a couple weeks and then tried the walmart brand and he did just fine so we switched him to the walmart brand! it is sooo much cheaper too! i have heard the costco brand is good but my prob with that is if you happen to run out at night etc or are on a trip or something and dont have a costco close by then you are out of luck ya know, thats why we went with walmart brand. anyway, this is a long post haha. bailey is so so cute!

Also, ask your pediatrician if they have free samples of formula-they should all have them and it will save a bit of money considering how darn expensive formula is.
